Comparison of 1920's films and modern films

Films from the 1920s weren't as technological as it is now. Now we have CG or Computer Generated Effects and a lot of advance technology. Back then the popular was feature filming rather than the "shorts". Large urban theaters took over for screening and premiering of films back then. The key genres then were horror, romantic comedy and the "swashbuckler".
Mid-late 1920s silent films were on the rise and the transition of sound on film developed the concept of musicals.

Now in the modern times,2013, sequels, prequels and extended parts are the trend of the current. The international film industry is also more well known thanks to the advancement of the internet. A lot of problems have also risen such as piracy of films, majority of the major film companies are against it and are using many ways to counter piracy ie.- SOPA,PIPA, etc.
